Patrick Starrr x MAC: Floral Realness Full Review

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of posts over the past month- I am back and ready to review new launches for you all! This go around I wanted to talk about the Mac Cosmetics collab with Patrick Starrr. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Starrr here a little rundown: Patrick Starrr is a Makeup Artist/ Youtuber/ Beauty Influencer who started out in the beauty world working at Mac Cosmetics. Since working at Mac, Patrick has created a huge following with his amazing makeup looks, technique and his over the top personality. If you’ve never seen a Patrick Starrr tutorial or Youtube video I highly recommend his channel, he does BEAUTIFUL makeup and has a fun upbeat personality that really shines through his videos. Patrick recently paired up with Mac Cosmetics to launch seasonal makeup kits.¹ This is the Spring launch, Floral Realness which had two different kits- Me so Fleek and Me So Chic. The kits were very similar but the colors varied. I picked up the Me So Chic Kit so lets jump right into the details!

Packaging

If you read my reviews you know I am a sucker for packaging and let me tell you I was blown away by the packing on this collection. Obviously, I expected floral imagery as the collection is called Floral Realness but this packaging is floral with a spin! The image on the individual units is like a floral kaleidoscope with the mandala-like pattern. I love the baby pink and the floral detailing! So beautiful and stands out a lot compared to the tradition black Mac lipstick tubes. Also how gorgeous is this face chart that came with the kit!

Product Breakdown

The Me So Chic kit includes 4 items:

  • Eyeshadow Quad (4 colors) “Stay with Me”
  • Lipstick, “Sweet Mamastarrr”
  • Lipglass, “Mamastarrr Kiss”
  • Blush Duo, “I’m Not Blushing”

Stay With Me Eyeshadow Quad

The Stay With Me Eyeshadow Quad includes four shades- Daddystarrr, Yesss, Queen Patrick and Bon Nuit.

These blend out pretty well on the eye and are buttery to the touch. There’s a bit of fallout but nothing too crazy. The colors are SUPER pigmented and pair very well with each other. This includes three formulas- two mattes shades, one pearl and one frost.

You can do a subtle sophisticated look with these shades or a fun bold look! With only 4 shades I do like this color scheme a lot because you can make a few different looks! Purple shadows are tough to get right but I am really liking these.

I’m Not Blushing Blush Duo

The I’m Not Blushing blush duo has a bronze-y matte shade paired with a lighter sheer peach-y shade. I typically prefer my products to be in separate pans, or separated by a divider but these two shades just work so well together! I swirl my blush brush into this compact, over both colors, and apply to the cheeks. The color is so beautiful and build-able, you can go a light flush of color or layer it up for a bold blush look.

This formula on this is great, it applies evenly without any patches. The pan size is definitely large enough that you can just grab one shade if you don’t want to mix the two. Out of everything in this bundle I reach for this the most!

Sweet Mamastarrr Lipstick

Sweet Mamastarrr Lipstick is creamy and dreamy! I really love the shade, light pink with a very creamy finish. This applies to the lips so smoothly and lasts for quite a while. I typically go for matte lips, but this shade and formula is just sooooo nice.

Mamastarrr Kiss Lipglass

Mamastarrr Kiss Lipglass has the shiniest finish ever and the perfect amount of sparkle! I love to use this on top of my Sweet Mamastarrr lipstick or really any lipstick. This gloss isn’t sticky or tacky, it glides on evenly and wears really well!

Pricing

I looked up the average individual items at Mac with similar layouts (example quad eyeshadow palettes and duo blushes from different collabs and/or launches). If you were to buy individual items from Mac with the same set up you wood be looking at $102 worth of product.

  • Average Mac Quad Eyeshadow -$33
  • Average Mac Lipstick -$18.50
  • Average Mac Lipglass- $17.50
  • Average Mac Blush Duo- $33

This kit was $49.50— thats $52.50 of savings!!!! I love that this was priced right under $50 for the entire kit. Makeup is expensive and with so many new launches its nice to see a high end brand do something thats reasonably priced (for Mac, don’t get me wrong $50 is a lot of money, but that’s expected with high end brands.)

Overall

I love this kit! If I didn’t already own this I would 100% repurchase. The colors are beautiful, the packaging is insane and I just love the whole kit so much! Here’s a look I created using two of the shadows, blush and lipstick.

Sorry it took so long to get this post up- I want to fully test out my new items before reviewing as I feel a full on review after thoroughly using the product is more beneficial than “first impressions” type reviews.

¹I am assuming this is a seasonal launch as Patrick just announced a Summer collection and he’s already done two with Mac this year. I think its safe to say this will go on at least until the Fall to complete the full year.

As always thanks so much for reading- Don’t forget to follow my Blog,

Halo Beauty Hair, Skin, Nails Booster- Full Review

If you aren’t familiar with Halo Beauty that might be because it’s a brand new company! Halo Beauty is owned and operated by Tati Westbrook aka Glamlifeguru who is a huge beauty Youtuber. Halo Beauty’s first product launch was a bit unexpected as most of Tati’s followers were assuming she would release makeup. Shockingly enough, Halo launched a Hair, Skin, Nail Booster vitamin.

I told myself that no matter what product Tati launched I was going to give a try because I want to support her brand and because I am in the business of trying new products to share with all of you. I do want to say I have been taking Halo Beauty for 30 days now so I did use the entire bottle before writing this to give you my full experience. As always, these are my personal opinions and things could results differently for you if you try this product. Please advise a doctor before taking this if you are pregnant or on any other medications.

Shipping

Shipping took a while, 2 weeks exactly. I do I live in New England and the weather has been nuts!! We had several huge snow storms and our mail wasn’t delivered on time so I’m guessing I would have gotten this sooner if the weather wasn’t crazy. It cost $7.95 for shipping however I did see on Twitter that Halo has since dropped its shipping pricing lower which is great!

Packaging

Packaging is beautiful. Frosted thick plastic jar with silver plastic screw cap with displays beautifully on my vanity. I also love that this bottle is pretty enough to reuse!  This is heavy duty enough to be tossed in your travel bag if you’re on the go.

Ingredients are clearly listed on the bottle along with warning (pregnant/breastfeeding). One big issue that I didn’t even notice at first is THERE IS AN ISSUE ON THE LABEL which claims the bottle has 60 servings. This is untrue as the bottle has 60 pills but only 30 servings since each serving is 2 pills. In my eyes this is a typo (that has since been corrected for new bottles) so whatever, but I can see why this is upsetting as some people thought they were getting more product that they actually are. The front of the bottle does still say 30 servings.

The pills are pink! This is a cute detail for the product to look cute. Luckily if you are vegan and/or cruelty free you are in luck because this does not contain carmine! Carmine is crushed beetles which creates pink/red pigment. Yes, you read that correctly, beetles are crushed for pigment… gross! This is a common practice/ ingredient in a ton of beauty products, vitamins, and even candy. Another animal product commonly used in vitamins shark cartilage.. Thankfully there is no carmine or cartilage in Halo Booster!

I have seen online people posting photos of their pills changing color- I have not experienced this- but some have seen the capsules loosing their bright pink color.

Claims

Ingesting

I take a sip of water, pop the pill in my mouth and then take a large gulp of water to wash it down. The pills do have a little bit of a earthy/chalky taste, but nothing too overpowering. They is no aftertaste after swallowing.

These pills are pretty big. I don’t have a hard time swallowing pill normally but these are a tough to swallow in all honesty. If I could change in thing about this I would make the pills smaller/less bulky. You can open these and add it to food or drink to ingest without swallowing the capsule if you prefer that route. I haven’t tried that.

Does it work?

This did hydrate my skin to the point I could see and feel results within 3 weeks. I noticed my skin feeling more supple, smooth and plump- plus my lips were not as chapped as normal! On the flip side, I noticed I was excessively thirsty and my urine was bright yellow. I looked into this and from what I’ve seen online, bright yellow urine is typically caused from an excess of Riboflavin, which is an ingredient found in Halo.

As for the nails and hair claims, not to toot my own horn, but I have very strong nails and hair, I was mainly focusing on the progress of my skin while taking this supplement.

My Results

In the before pictures you can see how chapped my lips are, the dry patches around my nose rings and my irritated acne. In the after photos my skin is so much healthier looking. (I do have makeup residue smeared under my eyes in my before photo, sorry about that, I didn’t notice when taking the photos).

Pros & Cons

Positives

  • Smoother skin on my face and body
  • Dark under eye circles appearing a little lighter
  • Less chapped lips
  • More hydrated skin
  • Gluten free
  • Soy free
  • Sugar free
  • Cruelty free
  • Vegan

Negatives

  • Hard to swallow
  • Excessive thirst
  • Expensive
  • Urine is bright yellow (excess of Riboflavin)

Overall- Will I re-purchase?

I don’t think I will be re-purcahsing. This worked wonders for hydrating my skin, but it is $40 a month which is almost $500 a year! I love the hydration results but that price tag is going to really add up month after month. I was hoping this would help my eczema patches around my elbows but unfortunately I haven’t seen any change in those areas.

Overall, I think this is a great product for hydration, if you can afford it for $40 a month. Also, if you are vitamin deficient than this product would probably be really beneficial to you! Please note that I am not knocking this product at all- I honestly will try the next product launch from Halo Beauty in the future too- this product just sit necessary for my lifestyle.

Milk Makeup Flex Concealer Review

I stopped in Sephora recently just to check out the newest launches and spoke with a sales person who was really pushing the Milk Makeup Flex Concealer. I told him I use concealers that are FULL coverage and he ensured me that this would do exactly what I wanted as far as coverage and wearability. It was insanely busy in Sephora and my boyfriend was waiting outside so I just ran to the counter, handed over my debit card and left….. then I realized I had just spent $28 on one tube of concealer that only had .2 oz of product….This isn’t completely unheard of for Sephora brands. For example, Urban Decay’s Naked Concealer is $29 per tube (.16oz). So I wasn’t mad at the price but I did have VERY high expectations since I wasn’t excepting that hefty price tag. Lets jump right into the nitty gritty- packaging, coverage, wearability, formula, pro/cons and would I buy again.

Packaging

This looks like a squeeze tube, but it isn’t! Theres actually a wand in here which is usually ideal for application. The wand is an good shape, but it doesn’t pick up much product out of the tube. I had to re-dip a few times per eye which isn’t a terrible flaw, but it is kind of annoying.

Also, I’m to sure if it’s a packaging flaw or if I got a bad tube, but sometimes the stopper (the plastic piece that removes the excess product from the wand) lifts and I end up making a mess!

Formula

This has marshmallow extract and blue lotus in the formula, which was one of the big selling factors for me. I like trying things with extra benefits for the skin. The other big claim is that this is a “flex” formula which means it will move with the skin instead of cracking or creasing since it’s flexible. I always want to have a completely smooth under eye area with no creasing or texture so I was hoping this would become a new staple in my makeup collection!

Wearability

This applies to the skin okay. It does say to apply and then blend with fingertips which I did and notice more coverage than another time when I blended out with a Beauty Blender. Makeup sponges seem to grab this product and remove it more than actually blend it out, so fingers are the way to go with this product for sure.

This applies smoothly and evenly. I didn’t have any issues blending out and it matches my skin tone really well. My biggest issue is that this didn’t have the coverage I was hoping for being that it was almost $30… My first time applying I did my normal amount of product and it just had a medium coverage look which doesn’t work for me. I have very dark circles so I want a FULL coverage concealer. I ended up doing two layers of this and it looked good, wore well and didn’t crease! I actually really like how this wore under my eyes when I layered it up but I just feel like I’m going through so much product so quickly. (Please note when layering liquids you want to let the first layer dry before adding more.)

I also used this to conceal blemishes and it looked great upon first application but that it ended up showing my redness throughout the day. This became greasy pretty quickly (about 3 hours into the day) and seemed to slide right off my blemishes, showing the texture and discoloration. I did not notice any oiliness under my eyes, just on my face where I spot concealed.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Color matches my skin perfectly
  • Flexible (doesn’t crack/ crease)
  • Wears well under eyes
  • Vegan & cruelty free formula

Cons:

  • Not full coverage (unless layered)
  • Doesn’t cover blemishes
  • Expensive

Overall

I would give this a 6/10. I would repurchase (for under eye concealing only) if it came with more product because I did like the way it wore under my eye with that extra layer. Since that isn’t the case, I don’t think I’ll be grabbing another tube of this concealer because I see myself going through it so quickly. I typically don’t mind spending a little extra for foundations & concealers because I want full, long wearing formulas, but this just isn’t enough product for the price in my opinion. Honestly, the Colour Pop No Filter Concealers have a similar texture and wear similarly and those are only $6 per tube.

Has anyone tried this? Or any other products from Milk Makeup? Let me know in the comments!

As always, thanks so much for reading!

Stila Glitter on the Go Liquid Eye Shadow Set

This product has been in the back of my mind for a while, but liquid products scare me! I wasn’t sure how much use I would get out of this since it is sooooo glittery but I ended up grabbing the Glitter on the Go set from Sephora for $25. This set includes 3 shades of the Stila Glitter and Glow long wearing liquid eye shadows in the shades Kitten Karma, Smoldering Satin and Rose Gold Retro. These shade names are adorable and pair really well with the colors. This outer unit i super cute, the white and metallic looks high end and has a vintage vibe.

Packaging

These little tubes are really cute!!! I love that the bottle itself is clear so you can see the shade and product amount. The mixed metals are so cute, keeping with the theme of a lot of still packaging that will incorporate golds, silvers, etc and it does clash at all, it looks super chic! Here’s a photo of the liquid eye shadows next to a Stila palette so you can get an idea of the size of each tube.

Stila Glitter on the Go set with Stile Eyes are the Window Palette (Mind)

Applicator

The applicator on this is a great size for my eye shape. It disperses product evenly and spreads the product around on the eye with ease.  If you have hooded eyes or small/deep set eyes, this might be a little more difficult because the applicator is kind of big. You could always transfer the product onto a small brush if you need something that is thinner or even to do detail work that needs to be precise.

Application

I place all of my powder shadows down first (transition, crease, lid) and then go in with the Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow. You don’t really want to blend around this product while wet because it will smear &  you don’t want to blend around when dry because it will have fall out- so I would recommend this being the last step with shadows. Once its on the lid you can work with the product gently to blend out, I just wouldn’t blend other powder products around this.

These go on extremely wet! They do feeling pretty heavy upon first application but that didn’t last very long. The dry down is kind of quick- not too long of a wait for this to dry, however I did use a piece of paper to fan my face after applying so that made it dry faster.

My first time using this product, I made bit of a mess- I applied very heavily and then immediately opened my eyes which lead this to smear and transferred above my crease.  Since then, I’ve got a way better handle on application, but this product is slick and can be tough to use if you don’t have a steady hand. Keep in mind practice makes perfect, so just keep trying until you get a handle of this. (If you are use to liquid eye shadow, you may not have trouble with this at all. I am just not familiar with liquid products like this so it took a few tries to feel confident applying).

Swatches

Wearing with Liner and Lashes?

Liquid liner apples well over this if you use something very inky/pigmented. I used Tarte’s Double Take liner and it didn’t look bumpy or weird which is great! Another time I used Tarte’s Sex Kitten Liquid Liner , which is a thinner and less pigmented consistency and you could totally tell. The Sex Kitten Liner just wasn’t bold enough over the glitter, it looked patchy and bumpy (which doesn’t happen on regular shadows) so definitely go with something very black and pigmented!

If you try and use a pencil liner over this product it might be tough because this does have fall out when dry. Rubbing something on the eye like a pencil liner will likely move the glitter off of your eye lid and make a mess. Liquid Liner would be an easier and cleaner application, at least for  me.

Wearing false lashes over the glitter was a breeze! I was worried, thinking the glue wouldn’t hold as well, but I didn’t have a problem at all! I did end up with glitter on my lashes though because of the fall out.

Kitten Karma

Comfortability

These are surprising comfortable! One of the biggest reasons I was on the fence about this product was because I assumed it would feel dry and crunchy. This product does feel heavy upon first application, but once dry it is super light weight. There’s no heavy, itchy, tight or overwhelming feeling. I haven’t had any irritation on my lids or my actual eyes!

Wear Time

The wear time on these is incredible! I applied this around 10am and it was still on and in place at midnight! The glitter was still vibrant and gorgeous at the end of the night and I was really surprised that it hadn’t transferred all over my face!

I’ve worn these multiple times since purchasing. They wear beautifully and I haven’t had major fall out during the day while working or running errands.

I did snuggle up to my boyfriend one time and he ended up with glitter all over his face, but it was the end of the day so is wasn’t a huge deal. You couldn’t tell looking at me because I still had so much glitter and pigment on my eyes, but you could definitely see all of the sparkle on his face.

Smolder Satin

Removal

This wipes right off with a makeup wipe, easy peasy. Since this is a liquid that dries down, and lasts all freaking day, I thought removing it might be tough- It wasn’t! I used my normal go to face wipes (Simple Cleansing Wipes) and this came off with no problem!

Tips and Tricks:

I would recommend applying to one eye and keeping it closed while it dries down. Once it is dry, you can open your eyes and start the other lid.

This does have fallout after its dried down! Try not to touch your eyes at all because the glitter will move when disturbed. If you do not touch your eyes, these will last for a while!

Overall

I am extremely surprised at how well these wear and just how easy they are to apply. I really love these a lot and I’ve worn them really often. I have received a lot of compliments on my makeup wearing this because ii is just so glittery and eye catching. I love all three shades in this pack, and I am really glad I grabbed these instead of one big one, just so I can switch up my looks. I would give this a solid 9/10 rating.

Has anyone else tried these? Let me know in the comments below! Also, what do you think of me rating the products 1-10 at the end of my reviews? I’ve never done it before but I love so many items so I think it would be a clearer indicator of my like or dislike in a product.

Kylie Cosmetics- Velvet Lipsticks & Glosses Review

My first purchase ever from the very popular Kylie Cosmetics was a few weeks ago! The only products from this brand I have tried prior to this was a matte lip kit (lip liner & matte liquid lipstick) in the shade Vixen. It was a gift from my ride or die cousin who knows my makeup obsession all too well. I really loved the color of the product, however it is insanely drying after wearing it for hours. When first applying the liquid lipstick wasn’t terrible, but over the course of the day it did dry out my lips a lot. I have since worn this  a few times, mainly for special events since it’s so dark and dramatic, plus it only wears well for a few hours at a time.

Since that experience, I wasn’t too big on trying more Kylie Cosmetic Products until I found out about the Velvet formula. I was super curious about the Velvet Lipsticks because I assumed the texture would be softer and maybe a tad bit more hydrating. I was pumped when I saw the 2 for $20 sale and figured it was the best time to try more products from Kylie Cosmetics.

When I purchased these I got a GREAT deal- the website was hosting a 2 for $20 sale, plus I signed up for the mailing list and received a $10 off coupon code for my first order. I spent $44 on 5 products. Had I purchased this without the sale and coupon code, I would have spent $76, so I save $32 total! Shipping was free because I grabbed more than $40 worth of products. Lets jump right into quick swatches and product breakdown.

Lip Liner in Dirty Peach

This lip liner applies very smoothly, no skipping or tugging.  The color is gorgeous and wears well on the lips. I’ve worn this a few times now, once under a liquid lip and once under a gloss, both times it wore fantastic! These liners are stunning and comfortable on the lips. The one thing to keep in mind- this is so creamy that you should be extra careful- I broke mine while swatching. I’m not too happy about that, but I must have applied too much pressure since the entire tip snapped clean off. I’m hopeful that wouldn’t happen on the lips. Regardless, I like the color and formula of this a lot!

Velvet Lipstick in Birthday Suit

I was on the fence with this shade. It’s a neutral color, which I’m into, but it’s a bit on the yellow side. I typically go for cool toned neutrals- ashy browns or straight up nudes. To be honest, I’m not sure if I would have purchased this if there were still other colors in stock online. I did think this was pretty, it just wasn’t my first choice. Since things were selling out so quickly I just added this to my cart before check out and I am so glad I did! I wore this (without liner or gloss) and it looked so beautiful and natural- but different enough to stand out. This inspired me to do my makeup a little different that day too and step out of my go to look. Very pleased with this, I can see myself reaching for it quite often!

Velvet Lipstick in Punk

This color is more my speed. I like grunge-y looking colors that could fit in the music scene in the 90’s. I was drawn to this color on the website so I decided to grab it thinking I coudl get a lit of use out of a darker shade like this. These lipsticks are extremely opaque! One swipe across the lips and your good to go. This color is really trendy right now, that 90’s rocker glam is definitely in style and I love it.

Velvet Lipsticks Formula

The formula on these is 10000% better than the matte lipsticks. Not overly drying which is great. It feels very velvety after drying down, so its appropriately named. I did find that these were not transfer proof, but that’s not a huge concern for me. After about 4 hours, and a meal, I did need to reapply to the center of my lips. As long as you don’t mind a quick touch up, these are definitely worth checking out! These have a slight vanilla scent too which is nice and not overwhelming.

Lip Gloss in Damn Gina

This is shade is more on the cool side with a purple undertone when swatched. On lips this is high shine and super sparkly! I love this and think I’ll be reaching for it a lot. The color is beautiful and going to be extra bling-y in the sunlight this summer! The glitter in this is serious!!!

Lip Gloss in Cupid

This gloss is pretty much metallic rose gold. I put this on the lips thinking it would be a sparkly top coat kind of gloss, but let me tell you this is pigmented!! This covered the lipstick I was wearing underneath and totally stole the show. I honestly don’t know how often I would reach for this because its like BAM in your face glow. Its gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, it’s just really pink and high shine for my typical everyday looks. Here’s a photo of one swipe of Cupid over Punk so you can see how pigmented this Gloss is!

Lip Gloss Formula

Surprisingly, these aren’t overly sticky or slimy but they are thick! The formula on this is a nice balance of slight tacky feeling but enough slip that it is not annoying to wear. I am really loving these glosses honestly. They are pretty long wearing, which is kind of unheard of for glosses. I don’t know how I feel about the brush applicator- I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. The brush collects so much product and applies it pretty thick.

Overall

I am really happy I grabbed these items. The packaging is flawless, the units come with a lot of product and honestly I think I’ll be getting more Velvet Lipstick and liners soon!

I have officially only tried the lip products from Kylie Cosmetics but I’m extremely curious about the blushes and highlighters… Have you tried products from Kylie Cosmetics? Let me know in the comments what products I should try next!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Mini Reds and Pinks Bundle (Love Sick Collection)

The Jeffree Star Cosmetics Love Sick collection dropped a few weeks ago and it went quick! The Blood Sugar Palette sold out 100,000 units in 3 minutes, which is absolutely insane! I wasn’t able to get my hands on the Blood Sugar palette (which looks beautiful) but I did grab the Mini Reds & Pinks Bundle and I am really exited about it!!!

I reviewed and swatched the Mini Nudes Bundle Vol. 1 that came out a few months ago and I absolutely loved it! I still wear a lot of those shades to this day and I haven’t run out of product in any of them. (See my previous blog post “Jeffree Star Cosmetics Mini Nude Vol.1 Swatches & Review” for more on that bundle) That post discussed the packing and pricing, which is the exact same for this bundle (except red) so I am not going to touch on that too much, just a quick rundown.

Pricing

This set is $52 for 8 mini Velour Liquid Lipsticks, which makes them $6.50 each. For a high end brand like Jeffree Star Cosmetics, this is a fantastic price. I know something over $50 seems like a lot for makeup but if you wear liquid lipsticks often this is definitely a great deal for 8 shades! The shipping was $5.95, which is typical for beauty products.

Packaging

The bundle come packaged in a really nice box which has individual slots to showcase the lipsticks. I absolutely love the attention to detail this company includes with their launches. This box is gorgeous, sturdy and overall makes the product feel even more high end.

Shades

Mini Reds & Pink Bundle includes 8 shades:

  • Doll Parts
  • Calabasas
  • Wifey
  • Watermelon Soda
  • Anna Nicole
  • Prom Night
  • Redrum
  • Unicorn Blood

Texture

All of these shades are the traditional Velour Liquid Lipstick formula- matte and opaque! These wear so beautifully on the lips. I would recommend a lip scrub first to remove dead skin before any liquid lipsticks (see my previous post “Prepping for Liquid Lipsticks” for more on extending wear time and comfortability with matte liquid lipsticks).

Swatches

I know these swatches are far from perfect, but I wanted to try something new by show these on the lips, instead of my normal arm swatches!

The timing of this post is pretty coincidental, being that Jeffree Star Cosmetics Instagram shared a photo of my swatches yesterday! I am over the moon that they saw my post and like it enough to repost. Here’s the screenshot of their page with my post!!!!

I am so beyond excited! I did these swatches pretty quick (and now I’m wishing I had taken more time to make it perfect and less messy), but I’m just so ecstatic that Jeffree Star’s team reposted it! I used each shade to write a letter, starting from the shade of the far left and working across the set.

Overall

These bundles are awesome. I’m a sucker for travel sized products in general so of course I’m drawn to mini Jeffree Star Lipsticks since they are my favorite Liquid Lipsticks. The colors are so unique, the formula is fantastic and the price isn’t overwhelming for the amount of product you receive. Hands down, I would recommend this to any red lipstick lover.

Has anyone else grabbed this bundle or anything from the Love Sick Collection? Let me know in the comments, Im so curious about the items I didn’t grab this time around!

Fenty Beauty Lip Products

Fenty Beauty is a relatively new line sold at Sephora. If you are unfamiliar with this line, it is developed and backed by Rihanna. The name comes from her last name, Fenty. This company  had a huge launch last year and made big waves in the beauty industry. Gaining a ton of recognition for their wide range foundation colors, their blinding highlights and their pigmented lip products, Fenty has definitely made a name for itself quickly.

Of course you guys know I was super curious about this line so I did some digging. Sephora now sells minis so I could resist. I grabbed a mini Bomb Gloss and used my Sephora Points on the Matte Lipstick mini. Lets jump into a full break down on these two products.

Fenty Beauty Bomb Lip Gloss

Let me start by saying I’m not a huge fan of lip glosses in general. I prefer matte or satin lips, just because I feel lip gloss is too sticky and wears off too quickly. However that is NOT the case with the Bomb Gloss by Fenty Beauty.

Formula/Texture

The texture of this is slick, as you would except from a gloss, but not overall sticky. When you first apply this there isn’t much sticky feeling at all. Over the course of the day it does seem to get a little sticky around where the lips press together, but nothing too worrisome.

Color

The color is beautiful in the tube and on the lips. This is the only shade in this line, being that it a universal color- which means it works with all skin shades. The listing for the product calls it a “high shine, shimmery rose nude”, which is the perfect description. I have fair skin and this looks great on me, plus I’ve seen a ton of models on the sites with a variety of skin tones and they all look amazing!

Scent

The scent on this product is to die for! Lately I’ve kind of been over the whole scented makeup fad, but this vanilla/peach scent is the perfect amount of sweet fragrance! So yummy!

Applicator

Applicator is really big so you can do a quick swipe and be done. If this were an applicator for a colored product I would probably hate it because its bulky but with gloss you don’t need to be insanely precise so the size is fine by me.

Wearability

This wears really well alone or on top of other lip products. The longevity is fantastic compared to the other glosses I’ve tried; This stays on for hours!!

I’ve worn this over a few different liquid lipstick formulas and it’s held up perfectly on all of them- it didn’t break down the lipsticks or make them feather out. You want to make sure to let the liquid lipstick dry down COMPLETELY, then you won’t ruin the applicator on the lipgloss. If you put gloss over wet lip products you will end up making a mess.

My favorite combinations with this gloss so far are Jeffree Star Rose Matter & ABH Ashton.

Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick

This Matte lipstick was the newer launch from Fenty, coming out just a few weeks ago. The packaging is super cute, very different fro m anything else on my vanity. There are currently 14 shades, ranging from every day nudes/pinks to wild purples/blues.

Formula/ Texture

The formula on this is so creamy for a matte lipstick. I wouldn’t say this is super flat matte, it has more of  matte/satin finish- which makes sense since the finish was models after a rose petal.  I was pretty taken aback by how the felt on my lips, it is so lightweight, it almost seems too good to be true. There were parts of the day I forgot I was wearing this- thats big for any kind of matte formula!!

Color

This glided very smoothly over my lips, which are kind of chapped, so that in itself is amazing. This darker shade, Griselda, is super pigmented, it took a few swipes to get solid coverage, but that typically for most dark lipstick products. I love this deep wine color, it felt very vampy and trendy at the same time!

Applicator

I had tough time with the shape of this, just because the tip is so rounded to fit the unit. I prefer a sharp tip to line the cupids bow and bottom lip so that was my biggest drawback. This is not a deal breaker for me however because you can easily clean up and define with a small lip brush to get a sharper outline.

Wearability

This is not transfer proof. I had residue on my straw when sipping my coffee, but nothing catastrophic where you could notice on my lips.

Touching up throughout the day the day was necessary, but easy peasy. When it started to wear down, i just did another quick swipe over my lips and I was good to go. There are some lipsticks that are so drying and matte that if you try to do another layer, they get crunchy and peel- this lipstick didn’t do that at all!

Overall

Gloss- I absolutely love the color, texture and wear time on this gloss. I have definitely changed my opinion on not likening gloss, I think I’ve just never found the right formula for me until this came along. Ill be repurchasing the full size asap!

Matt Lipstick- I am very pleased with this lipstick  and it makes me really curious how the lighter shades would wear. I am definitely buying some fun sizes from this line to test out.

If you are curious to try these products, the full sizes are $18 each- available at Sephora. Let me know in the comments if anyone has tried these and what they thought! I was super happy with both products and cant wait to try more from this line!

Fit Me by Maybelline Review

Maybelline’s Fit Me line has been around for quite some time. I was an avid user of the Fit Me Bronzer and Blush for years. Recently, I’ve seen tons of Youtubers and Beauty Influencers recommending the Fit Me Foundations, Concealers and Powders for their favorite drug store products so I figured I would give it try! I was able to grab the “Matte & Poreless” foundation and powder in my color but the Concealer was all sold out in my shade.

Foundation

This  “Matte & Poreless” foundation is packaged really beautiful for an inexpensive brand! This comes in a glass bottle with a black cap. The lettering is a sleek black and teal; overall very nice presentation. I do wish this had a pump on it, rather than just an opening to pour the product out, but that’s just a personal preference.

This blends into the skin nicely and wears well throughout the day. I would recommend a beauty sponge instead of a brush- just because the formula is thick, I’ve seen better results using a sponge.

The formula is matte, however that’s the final product after I powder. I never wear foundation alone . My skin does not get oily wearing this which is great! If you have dry skin, or dry patches, this might not be the best product for you. I did notice the product grabbing on to areas of dry skin on my cheeks when I wore it without a moisturizing primer (but that’s because my skin is combo and this winter has been rough!)  I wouldn’t say the poreless claim is true. If you have large pores, I  would recommend a pore minimizing primer with this- Benefit’s Porefessional or NYX Pore Filler are great- so that you can get a smoother overall appearance.

This foundation is very build-able, which I love! I can do a thin layer for a carefree makeup day, or layer it up for more glam days (I recommend letting it dry before a second coat)! The coverage is really nice when it comes to acne, I like how opaque this is over red areas, dark circles and imperfections. I will say that this took my a few tries to really love. The first few times I went too heavy with the products and felt very cakey. Just be mindful of your application- thin layers, with a few minutes in between to dry will give you the best results!

Powder

The loose powder is packaged well, the cap unscrews easily and the powder is secure under a plastic sifter. I love that it comes out slow enough so you don’t end up with a huge dust cloud and you can kind of control the amount of product you want to dispense, since the sifter is sized appropriately. The unit is plastic, but very durable. Keeping with the theme, it also has sleek black cap.

The texture on this powder is lovely! It is soft and finely milled so it applies flawlessly to the skin. This does seem to give a little extra coverage, since its a tinted powder, rather than a translucent powder. I would compare the texture to Cody Air Spun because it has that soft, velvet touch. This powder is not scented at all.

If you have pale skin- the 05 Fair shade is wonderful for baking the undereyes!! I have fair skin and most powders are too dark to highlight the under eye area. This however works really well! I use a sponge to set my bake under the eyes and then brush it off with a large fluffy brush. I then use that same large brush to buff the powder into he remainder of my face.  I would highly recommend using this sparingly- too much powder can give you cake face!

Overall

I really love both of these items! I find myself reaching for the powder a lot, it’s just the perfect shade for my fair skin. The foundation is great to have too, I tend to grab for it when I am having breakouts or if the bags under my eyes are really dark- the coverage is real!

These products are $5.99 each, so you really can’t go wrong grabbing both for $12! If you haven’t tried these, its worth giving it a go. Just be mindful of your skin type and the amount of product you are using- like I mentioned above it took me a few times to realize I was applying too much at first, this stuff is pigmented!

Now that I’ve tried this Matte & Poreless, I really want to try the Dewy & Smooth! Let me know in the comments if you would like to read a review on that one too!

Jeffree Star x Manny MUA Bundle: Worth the Hype?!

I have seen a ton of Instagram posts about the collaboration between Jeffree Star and Many Mua. As of lately, there has been a ton of “news” (drama) between these two, but regardless of that I still wanted to review their collab for you guys.

If you aren’t familiar with these two beauty gurus- Jeffree & Manny- are very talented Beauty Influencers who collaborate on tons of tutorial & review videos on Youtube. These two are extremely knowledge in the beauty industry so when they released a collab, I was sooooo excited to check it out!

Pricing

I was luck enough to score this on Black Friday for $30, so I saved pretty big. This retails for $50 on jeffreestarcosmetics.com; If you were to buy these products individually, it would be $65 so the bundle is definitely a great deal.

Product Overview

With this bundle you receive 3 FULL SIZED products: (pictured below)

  • “I’m Shook” Velour Liquid Lipstick
  • “Daddy” Velour Liquid Lipstick
  • “Uranus” Skin Frost Highlight

Packaging

The outermost packaging is a thin black cardboard sleeve with the with a holographic collab logo. When we remove the sleeve we see a good sized black box with JSC and Manny MUA logos all over. The matte black and shiny black play very well with each other and make the cardboard unit very sleek and stylish.

When we open the box, it’s looks like this- with the items placed in individual slots so that they don’t slide around. I LOVE the attention to detail on this packaging!

The packaging on the actual products are great too, very durable and sturdy. I am familiar with the liquid lipstick tubes. I am a big fan of the size and shape of the applicator which hugs the lips so well and created a very crisp line.

The Skin Frost was waaaaayyyyy bigger than I expected! I new the compact were pretty large, but this blew my mind.

The mirror is fantastic and the product is pressed beautifully into the pan. It’s so pretty I almost didn’t want to touch it… but of course I did, I had to show off some swatches!

Product Swatches

  • “I’m Shook” Velour Liquid Lipstick is listed on the website as a “medium toned burnt coral”

  • “Daddy” Velour Liquid Lipstick is listed on the website as a “cool tone brown”

  • “Uranus” Skin Frost Highlight doesn’t have a website description but it is a very blinding gold!

Product Performance

The velour liquid lipsticks from Jeffree Star Cosmetics are one of my favorite liquid lipstick formulas. I love the way these look on the lips, plus they aren’t too uncomfortable. My one piece of advise would be to prep your lips before applying any of these so that you get the ultimate wear experience.

The Uranus skin frost is so blinding, it’s out of this world (get it, space joke there since its called Uranus). The texture is a lot different than what I am use to- its very chunky and glittery, so just be mindful if you are purchasing this that it is glittery. If you love the color but hate the texture of a chunky highlighter, no problem, you can apply this to the cheeks and then tap it with a dampened makeup sponge to make this look more melted into the skin and less heavy. This wears beautifully on the skin either way. Super pigmented when applying with a dry brush and even more pigmented with a dampened brush! I have been loving this to highlight the inner corner of my eyes as well as cheekbones for an ALL OVER glow.

Overall– Is it worth the  hype?!

YESSSSS, I am loving all three product that came in this bundle! The colors are all so beautiful and different from each other so you can make a lot of looks with these products. I am so thrilled I was able to score this on sale!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Mini Nudes Vol. 1: Swatches & Review

I had been wanting to try Jeffree Star Cosmetics for a while but I figured I would wait for the Black Friday sales, since it is a more expensive brand. When I saw that this Mini Nudes bundle was launching, I couldn’t resist, because I love minis and I especially love nude liquid lipsticks. This was the type of makeup launch I had set it my calendar became I was so afraid it would sell out before I could purchase.

This launched on September 30th at 1pm (east coast) on Jeffreestarcosmetics.com. I was able to get on the website with no problem at all and my purchase was easy-peasy.

Within minutes, I received an email with a confirmation number. Two days later I was emailed with a shipping order number. And three days after that, I receive two emails, a few hours apart: one saying the order was out for delivery, and the other said the package had been delivered! I am thrilled with the costumer service in this company! I know these are just automated emails, but it is really nice to be updated as your order is being processed, delivered, etc.

Shipping

As I mentioned, this was purchased on 09/30 at I received it 6 days later, on 10/06. That is really good timing for a company thats doing big launch, because a lot of the time things get really backed up. In the initial email with my confirmation number, there was a disclaimer saying to allow for an extra 3-5 business days for new launch products, so I really wasn’t expecting to receive this so soon. Shipping was an additional $5.95, which is fairly standard for online beauty product sales.

Pricing/ Availability

This was $52 for the bundle + $5.95 for shipping, totaling $57.95. If we were to divid the minis into the price, it would put each mini liquid lipstick at $7.24 each (with shipping factored in). I think thats a great deal, being that this comes with 8 shades that are all truly different.

This is not a product you will see at Ulta or Sephora. Jeffrey Star Cosmetics are sold via his website, jeffreestarcosmetics.com and some online beauty retailers such as Beautylish.

Packaging

When I received this, it was in a hot pink box, so of course I knew right away what it was. The tape that sealed the box had the logo all over it and I thought that was a cute touch. Inside, my product was wrapped very carefully in tissue paper that was covered in the company logo as well as a layer of bubble wrap. Very happy to see how well this was packaged to ensure a safe delivery.

The packing of the actual unit is just as great! I am obsessed with the box this comes in. I love the color scheme and design of the exterior; it has this strange waxy feel to it, which I really like. It’s like a soft touch cardboard. There is an ombre of nude stripes cascading down the unit, with a golden metallic logo very largely printed on the front.

The side of the box reads “Open here for nudes” which is so genius as far as packing goes. That side flap is actually magnetic which is freaking amazing!

When we open the box we can see that all 8 liquid lipstick tubes are held into a inserted unit.

The names of the shades are listed below each component, as well as of the tube itself. The top of the box has smaller metallic gold logos throughout, which is just so gorgeous. I am head over heels with the packaging of this product, I makes me not want to put this on my vanity because its just displayed in her so nicely inside the box.

Swatches

This is a nude bundle but that doesn’t mean it’s all drab skin tone colors. The variety is really beautiful, ranging from flesh tones, ashy grey, to rosy pinks and warm deep terra cottas. Here are a few swatches!

Wearability

I’m not sure what Jeffree Star Cosmetics does in their liquid lipstick formula to make it so different but this is HANDS DOWN the most comfortable liquid lipstick I have ever tried. And thats saying a lot, I try different brands all the time. Typically, I reach for my Stila Liquid Lipstick because I find less drying than most brands, but in all honestly, this has just replaced Stila as my favorite formula!!!!

When I first applied this to my lips, it went on very easily. The shape of the application is nice, forming to the lips well. The color was opaque and not patchy at all as I ran it over my lips. At first, while it was still wet, I did think, hmm this seems like any other liquid lipstick, but as soon as it dried down I knew this wasn’t like anything else. My lips felt smooth and light. I didn’t feel any heavy product, excessive dryness or crusting. THIS FORMULA IS AMAZING!!! The first color I tried was Rose Matter, I applied it all over the lips, but before it could dried down, I used Androgen to line my lips and then blended together with a q tip for a Ombre lip look. I was nervous about this because some liquid lipsticks either dry down too quickly to blend or they are too thick and look bad. I am happy to report these blend in so beautifully; the colors transitioned into one another very easily and dried down together perfectly.

My one complaint is the smell… I absolutely hate the smell of these liquid lipsticks (some aren’t as strong). They smell like sweet cough syrup with spices in it, very licorice like. I really didn’t understand why the scent was so bad so I looked it up on the website and it says that some of the colors as scented with a root beer scent. I am NOT a fan of that at all, but the scent is something I can get over.

Overall

Overall, I cant wait for Volume 2!!!! My guess is it was named Mini Vol. 1 because they plan on releasing more mini bundles. Maybe another mini liquid lipsticks with reds or crazy bright color! Another thought it a mini bundle of highlighters?!? I am really excited to see what other new launched are coming, because this one really blew me away.

As of today, this is still available on the website, so if you wanted to try it out, theres still time!!! Let me know in the comments if anyone else picked this up, or has tried Jeffree Star Cosmetic products in the past! I am curious what other gems are in his collection that I have been missing out on.
